During my twenty-year management career in the hospitality industry, I earned the reputation of a Turn Around Specialist.  I was able to effect an immediate improvement in profitability, product quality, and employee morale while driving increased performance, regardless of my assignment.  I have managed hotel operations with full service restaurants, high-energy lounges, and large seating capacity banquet operations.  In addition to completing over $5 million in renovation projects, I opened a new property, with a high-energy private club, restaurant, and banquet operations.

Customer Service Manager, MICROS Systems. Inc. – 2003 – 2005

  • MICROS System is the industry leader in hospitality Point of Sale. Worldwide revenues exceed $680 Million.  I was challenged with the opportunity to build a new office in Houston, replacing the dealer with a company district office.
  • Build the staff from 2 employees to current level of 12, with plans of 22. Improving customer relationships and satisfaction levels.  Exceeded first year profit expectations by 28%.

Director of Operations, Texas POS – Aloha Point of Sale – 2002 – 2003

  • Directed installations, service, and sales departments for Aloha Point of Sale reseller providing support and service to over 500 customers while leading 20 employees.
  • Increased total revenues 18%, to over $4 million.

Installation and Support Consultant, Abacus 21, Inc. – 2000 – 2002

  • Provided on-site and phone support, system installation, operational training, and troubleshooting for client’s software applications, networks, hardware, and interfaces.  Increased companywide level of expertise for hardware, networks, printers, and troubleshooting process by conducting training sessions and authoring documentation.
  • Implemented and designed interfaces into property management systems, credit card processors, timekeeping and payroll management systems, and back office accounting systems.

MIS Manager, The Houstonian Hotel Club & Spa  – 1997 – 2000

  • Managed and supported networks of over 600 end users utilizing 200 computers for a 300-room hotel, a 120,000 sq. ft. health club, and two golf courses in different locations.
  • Administered multiple network platforms consisting of Novell, Microsoft NT, Microsoft SQL Server, and HP UX, including infrastructure administration of Ethernet and fiber optics.
  • Successfully completed Y2K upgrade project consisting of purchase, installation, setup, and configuration of workstations, servers, upgrading network infrastructure including fiber optic cabling, hubs, routers, switches with multiple T1 line access,. Added new software applications.
