Ingrid Y. Lin, PhD
Ingrid Y. Lin, is an Associate Professor of the School of Travel Industry Management at University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Her area of expertise includes services/hospitality marketing. Her research interests within the area of services marketing, consumer behaviors, and Human Resource Management include topics such as servicescapes, customer switching behavior, cross-cultural studies, consumer shopping behavior, gender differences, and restaurant tipping systems. She has published in Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, and Journal of Foodservice Business Research.
She received her Ph.D. in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management from Pennsylvania State University; Master of Science in hospitality industry studies from New York University; and Bachelor of Science in hospitality administration from Boston University. She has academic/teaching experience both in the U.S. (Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL; Penn State University in State College, PA) and in Taiwan (Tunghai University; Providence University, and Ling Tung University in Taichung, Taiwan).
Prior to joining the TIM School at University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, she represented the Graham School of Management and received the “Faculty Recognition of Excellence in Scholarship Award” from the Saint Xavier University in recognition for her scholarly work. Her industry experience includes working for the St. Regis Hotel in New York City and the Hilton International Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan.
