Melissa’s career in private club management started in high school, at Loudoun Golf in Country Club, in Purcellville, Virginia. She worked in the Pro Shop and as a Lifeguard and eventually the Assistant Manager of the Pool. After college, Melissa took a position at The Plaza Club in downtown Honolulu as the Administrative Assistant. Afterwards, Melissa was offered a position as the Executive Assistant at Oahu Country Club. She was the Executive Assistant for just over four years before being promoted to the Membership Director. Oahu Country Club is Oahu’s oldest 18 Hole Private Country Club with just over 1,000 members.
Melissa has been an active member of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) since 2006, starting with the UH Mānoa Student Chapter and then becoming a Professional Member in 2010. She has also served on the CMAA National Nominating Committee. She is a member of the local Paradise of the Pacific Chapter of CMAA, where she has served in many capacities including various chair positions, vice president, secretary/treasurer and president for three years.
In her spare time, Melissa teaches yoga, enjoys going to the great beaches of Oahu and of course, travels.
