The 17th Annual Celebrate a Legacy in Tourism is scheduled for Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikīkī Beach Resort. Established in 1966, the School boasts a rich history of innovation, growth and change with global recognition as a premier tourism education program that encompasses hospitality, tourism and transportation. To continue our legacy, this event serves as a venue to raise funds for student scholarships, and 100% of the net proceeds goes to those scholarships.

This year, the TIM School honors Jerry Gibson, Area Vice President, Hilton Hawaiʻi. Since taking the helm of Hilton Hotels Hawaiʻi, Mr. Gibson has spearheaded Hilton’s community service efforts.  Hilton employees have been involved with numerous community service projects while the hotel has hosted many community fundraising events, including partnering with the Institute of Human Services to assist in reducing homelessness in Hawaiʻi.

We are also proud to award the Hawaiʻi Lodging & Tourism Association with the TIM Distinguished Service Award for their industry leadership and contributions to improving our community and university, and induct alumnus Glenn Perry, Realtor Associate, Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties & President, TIM International, Inc., into the TIM Alumni Hall of Honor in recognition of his professional accomplishments and support of the School.
