What do you enjoy most about the school and why?
I enjoy all the connections I have made. I came to college only knowing my friends from high school and now I have a whole network of connections. It is really cool to have a group of people going through the same situations as you because you form bonds and help one another out to succeed. It is awesome to see my friends and I grow.
What are three words (or more) you would use to describe the TIM School?
Unique, Supportive, Incredible
What opportunities are offered in the surrounding community?
There are a lot of opportunities to get internships and volunteer. I am very thankful to know that so many professionals in the area are willing to give us the tools and guidance to succeed in this industry.
What advice can you give to students who are considering attending the School of Travel Industry Management?
I would recommend getting involved. There is a lot of value in not only knowing course material but getting to live it. There are so many opportunities to get involved whether it be joining clubs, taking on an internship, or volunteering for the TIM school. Being involved helps you practice and learn interpersonal skills that are valuable in our industry.
What TIM activities/student organizations are you involved in? Why did you decide to join that group?
I am currently involved in TIMSA and CMAA. I decided to join TIMSA because I am not sure what route I want to go in the hospitality industry yet and knew this would be a great way for me not only to get some clarify on that but also be able to make friends and network with professionals. I joined CMAA because I was interested in learning about the private club industry.
